What we do

From first assessment to verified revenue

EightSix does four things for a PC or mobile studio entering China: finds the right publisher, negotiates the deal, oversees what the publisher promised, and checks the money. Everything else is the publisher's work, and we keep it aligned to what was agreed.

The services

Six pieces of work. One person on your side.

Each one is scoped into the same engagement. The split is always the same: EightSix navigates, your publisher executes, you approve.

The whole route

China market entry

Regulatory route, publisher shortlist, deal terms and post-launch oversight for a Steam title going into China, end to end. Start here if you want the full picture.

Publisher matching

A vetted shortlist of three to five Chinese publishers with a real record in your genre, with our notes on each. Never a cold directory. You pick, we introduce.

Market strategy

Which route into China fits your game, when to launch, and how to price for Chinese players. Three decisions that shape everything after, informed by your platform and available audience data.

Around launch

Marketing oversight

Chinese players find games on Bilibili, Douyin, TapTap and WeChat. Your co-publisher runs those channels. We review the plan, check the spend and keep final say with you.

Localisation

Your co-publisher funds and runs the Simplified Chinese localisation. We scope it into the contract, check the quality and bring in specialist vendors where a game needs them.

Two pathways

We advise PC and mobile studios. For PC games, we assess the Steam Global route and proposed local activities. For mobile games, we assess Chinese publisher fit, distribution, adaptation and the commercial model for your title.

What we don't do

We are not a publisher, and that is the point

EightSix does not translate your game, run your Bilibili channel, process payments or take a licence to your IP. The Chinese co-publisher does the local work, and funds it, because that is what a co-publisher is for.

A co-publisher cannot run its own competitive process, and cannot advise you on terms it is a party to. That is the work we do. We pick the publisher with you, write the deal so both sides know exactly what was agreed, and keep the commitments and the reporting aligned to it after launch.

How it is paid

Proposal-led. Scoped to your game.

There is no retainer and no upfront fee. When a Chinese partner signs your game, EightSix charges £5,000, or £10,000 with the launch review, credited against a share of 20% of China net revenue up to £50,000 and 10% above that. Publishers can book a fixed-fee China readiness audit, quoted per slate, with no share. Your written proposal defines the revenue covered, permitted deductions and payment terms. The full structure is on the pricing page.

It starts with a free look at your demand. Send your game link and within 24 hours on working days you have an honest read of whether the numbers justify a move at all.

The next step

Find out what your game is worth in China

A free assessment of your game's existing China demand: reviews, wishlists and comparable titles, summarised in plain English. No pitch, no obligation, and you keep your IP either way.
